WhatsApp wedding invitation

How to send your wedding invitation on WhatsApp (and get everyone to RSVP)

WhatsApp is where your guests already are, so it is the natural place to send the invitation. With Enlázate every guest gets their own link with their name already filled in, and you send it from your own phone in a single tap.

What makes sending it easy

One link per guest

Paste your list and everyone gets a personal link: it opens the invitation with their name in the RSVP form and ties their reply to them.

A WhatsApp button for each guest

Next to every guest is a button that opens WhatsApp with their number and a ready-written message containing their link. You just press Send.

In each guest’s language

If a guest has another language set, their link opens the invitation in that language and the message is written in it too.

You know who is missing

The list shows who has replied and who hasn’t, and the analytics (Premium) show how often the personal links have been opened.

First: your guest list

In the dashboard, paste your list with one guest per line: “Name, email, phone, language” (only the name is required; up to 500 guests per wedding). It is free, just like sending a save the date by email.

For the WhatsApp button to open the right chat straight away, enter phone numbers with the country code, for example +44 7700 900000. If a guest has no number, the button still opens WhatsApp with the message ready so you can pick the contact — or copy their link and paste it anywhere.

The message: examples you can copy

When you press the button, WhatsApp opens with this text (in the guest’s language), which you can tweak before sending: “Hi! Here is our wedding invitation. You can RSVP at this link: …”.

If you want something more personal, here are two ideas:

  • “Hi Sophie! We’re getting married on 12 September and it wouldn’t be the same without you. Here’s the invitation with all the details — could you RSVP by 15 July? …”
  • “Dear Auntie Jean, we are so happy to send you our wedding invitation. Inside you’ll find the timings, directions and the form to reply. Lots of love. …”

WhatsApp invitation etiquette

More in our guides to digital invitation etiquette and sharing your invitation on WhatsApp step by step.

  • One-to-one messages, never a group. Everyone gets their own personal link and nobody sees anyone else’s number.
  • Write it in your own voice. The link carries all the information; the message just needs to sound like you.
  • Pick a sensible time. Send during the day, not late at night or in the middle of someone’s working morning.
  • Test it on yourself first. Send the link to your own phone to see the preview: WhatsApp usually shows the page title, which is your names.
  • Paper for older guests too. Print the card with the invitation’s QR code for anyone who is not at home with a smartphone.

Send your invitation on WhatsApp in 4 steps

  1. Prepare the invitation

Pick a design, fill in the details and set up the online RSVP form.

  2. Import your list

Paste names and phone numbers with country codes; every guest gets a personal link.

  3. Publish

With the one-off €49 payment your invitation goes live and the links start working.

  4. Tap “WhatsApp” for each guest

The chat opens with the message written. Check it, send it, move on to the next.

Frequently asked questions

Does Enlázate send the WhatsApp messages for me?

No. The button opens WhatsApp on your phone or computer with the message already written, and you send it yourself. It arrives from your own number, like any other message.

Is it acceptable to invite people to a wedding on WhatsApp?

It is now the most common way, especially when the message is personal rather than a mass forward. For anyone who prefers paper, you can also print a card with the QR code.

What is the difference between the general link and a personal link?

The general link is the invitation’s address and works for anyone. A personal link identifies the guest: it opens the form with their name filled in and ties their reply to them on your list.

Do guests need to install anything?

No. They tap the link in WhatsApp, the invitation opens in their phone’s browser and they reply in under a minute.

Can I send a reminder on WhatsApp as well?

Yes — the WhatsApp button stays on the list for anyone who has not replied, so you can message them again whenever you like. With Premium you also get one-click reminder emails.
